falling in love with bands.

2004-01-29

argh, i am so lucky. today, a complete chaos broke out on the roads in germany. we got the first real snow of the year last night and you could certainly see what that meant this morning. they said on the radio that all the highways were packed and the longest traffic jam was even 35km long. well, ALMOST all the highways were packed. guess which wasn't. yup, mine. ha. so i made it to school in time for the first time on a thursday. i even found a fairly decent parking lot after only a minute. walking around in the snow was a nightmare, though. this morning, i didn't even fully get what was going on. i mean...i'm not even fully awake in the morning so don't expect me to think. so i stepped outside and immediately started *sliding* towards my car. first, it was scary, then it seemed kinda funny and when i noticed i had to scratch the snow and ice away from the windows, after a few minutes it just got terribly cold. my fingers were still numb when i arrived at school. gloves would have helpes but i'm not a gloves person.
the day at school was rather relaxing as not many had actually bothered trying to get to school and those who had were either late or not expecting much from the day anyway. so, during typing class we were only surfing the net all the time (as usual), the german lesson was spent without the teacher who had some oh-so-important meetings and english was just ok and the teacher let us go 40 minutes earlier. apparently because he had a meeting, too, but it was obvious that he was just bored out of his mind and wanted to get out of class, too. tomorrow won't be much different. 7 lessons and 3 of them will be spent having a goodbye-brunch with our class teacher who's moving to hamburg soon and tomorrow will be her last day.

sooo...placebo are releasing "english summer rain", soon. you can watch both versions of the video here. i don't really like the animated version. i mean, ok, it was probably a lot of work and it's probably very stylish and all but i'm just not into such videos and this one is just bugging me and it seems so wrong being a placebo video and all. but the live version's really neat. i'm a sucker for live videos anyway. also, i think the single version of the song is a lot better than the album version which i never liked to begin with. or maybe it's just the fact that the video fits the song very well and stef's sexiness is making up for it all. i don't know and i don't care. i'm just glad i'm rediscovering the beauty that is placebo. i've been a little ber-busy with AFI lately. it's like...having a child and loving it to death (not literally) and then having a second child and you still love the first one but the second is just so exciting and new and all. but after a while you get used to having a second child, too, and then you're just crazy about them both and can't imagine losing one. aww, am i not sweet? hehe.
also, the wankers (placebo *g*) have announced australian tourdates. hello?! i think you must have misunderstood me. i said you should come to germany as soon as possible not go away from germany as far as possible.

aaaanyway....seeing as i have to get up way too early tomorrow, i shall leave you alone now. whatever.

ps: bloody windows media player just fucked up my AFI video. *hissss*
