awesome. just wesome.

2004-10-24

so...i spent the weekend with maja. quite weirdly, it felt like i hadn't seen her in ages though the last time wasn't even two months ago which is a very short time by our standards. i was dying to see her and i thought the weekend rocked. i got to meet one of her friends, adeline (now, don't i wish i knew the correct spelling? i could check maja's diary but...laziness, you got me back!). she was actually quite nice. for some reason i was a little nervous about meeting her after what maja told me. but it went ok. i felt kinda intimated about her being so touchy, though. but that's so typically me. haha.

afterwards we went to see slut. boy, was that awesome. i had seen them supporting placebo last year, so i thought i knew what to expect but this time they just blew me away. they rocky songs really rocked and the quiet songs were really emotional. i also didn't expect the audience to be so...devoted. i kinda expected a lot of students or "older" people to show up just because it was a saturday night and going to the gig was something to do. but most of the people i saw really knew all the songs and seemed so happy to see the band and all. that was really sweet. the only thing that annoyed me a little was that my fave song ("universal") was the second song on the setlist. i never liked that. it also happened with limp bizkit. i dunno but during the first songs, i'm always busy finding the right spot and taking everything in and all. and it seemed that most of the other people were the same because it was comparably quiet during the first 3-4 songs. but it still rocked. i am now convinced that chris neuburger is one of the most charming singers/musicians i've ever seen on a stage. he just seems so...nice and down to earth. i kept watching him during the quiet songs and he was always smiling and seemed really amazed to be able to stand on that stage and have people listening to his music. aww.
and the best thing: THEY'RE NOT GONNA SPLIT UUUUUP!!! YAAAAY!!!

the support totally sucked, though. haha, they sucked so much i can't even remember the full name now. something with...buildings blabla. whatever. that horrible horrible horrible german "actress" jana pallaske (sp? - do i care?) pretended to be the singer and it really seemed like she was playing a role. in that case probably brody dalle. except that she was doing even worse than in most of her films. gawd. they didn't even have enough material to fill the show, so they played one song twice. well, either that or they have to songs with the same lyrics/subject and that would be even sadder.

oh yeah...the highlight of my weekend? getting to know the absolutely insane sanifair high tech toilets. i was nearly pissing myself with laughter when i got up from the seat and it automatically flushed and cleaned itself. see? this is our reward for being the goddamn awesome humans that we are - self-cleaning toilets. shweet!

well, i think i should go to bed now. i suppose i got enough sleep at maja's but spending 9 hours driving home was kinda exhausting. my body's current "weekend spent with maja" - injury/bruise level is: medium. which means my stomach muscles (yes yes, don't stare at me like that. there ARE muscles under all that fat!!!) are sore from doing whatever, my lower back hurts to the point where i can nearly stand straight and i've got a headache. but i'm so happy. like, so so so happy. aww... <3
