Don't get mad if I'm laughing

2005-10-05

Please excuse the following outburst! But it's 3 AM and I have to let this out somewhere and randomly calling people would seem rude! Just scroll down to the normal me.

OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! AFI ARE BACK!
*cough* Uhm...not back-back. But they'll play at the BDO festival in Australia this Spring/Winter (well, Spring for us, Summer for them). This means the new album will be released sometime soon. And also that a tour isn't that far away, either. As for us Germans, I'm hoping for a few solo dates and then maybe some festival gigs. Hurricane maybe. Maybe also that new Area 4 one around here. And then, of course, other European countries. The Netherlands? Belgium? France? Ooooh, the excitement!

Okay, I'm done. But as I said, I had to let that out. I feel so relieved. And I know this is wrong in so many ways but it's still making me happy.
Wow, I had my little outburst and now I have no idea what else to write about. Not much has been happening here over the weekend. Well, today I finally went and picked my glasses up from the shop. And what a torture that was! It was crowded which was a surprise because the branch is a pretty small one in nowhere land. And before me in line had to be a horror customer. He was Polish or Russian or something and only understood every second or third word the shop assistant was saying, yet he insisted that his glasses were "wrong" but failed to explain what was supposed to be wrong. The assistant kept checking the glasses over and over again and that there was nothing wrong. She also told him that if he thought the glasses weren't right for his eyes, he had to see his eye specialist again for another test which he also refused to believe. He kept saying how he wanted the exact same glas on the left side as he had on the right side. The assistant tried to explain to him that according to her data, his eyes needed different glasses but after 15 minutes of the argument going back and forth, she just gave in and wrote an order for him so he'd get done whatever he wanted to get done. And I have no doubt that he'll be back with his new glasses telling her how this is all wrong. And I also have no doubt that all this happened because the guy didn't understand his eye specialist when they tested his eyes, just like he didn't understand the shop assistant. And once again I have some useful advice for anyone planning to immigrate to another country: speaking and understanding the language is a plus! But anyway, after waiting in line for ages and having the bastard kid from hell standing behind me and continuously demanding to be allowed to carry the goddamn contact lenses cleaner once they bought it (Sure, you can, kiddy...I can ram it right up your arse, so you won't lose it! *sweet smile*), I finally got my own glasses. And it only took 3 damn minutes to try them on and pay for them. Tisk. But yay. I can seeeeee... Ah, the wonder of eyesight!
And now I'm feeling rather sick. I drugged myself up with Aspirin as I had a badass headache earlier. I did the same yesterday and the day before so I'm guessing my stomach's trying to tell me that it doesn't appreciate having to deal with this everyday.
I'll just go to bed and try to sleep now. I think I'm way too excited, though. Whee, AFI! <3
