theories of conspiracy...yet again

2002-08-03

hehehe. ladies and gentlemen, bois and girls...a new era has started today. my very own mother took my osbournes album into the car with her to listen to it on her way to work this morning. the whole idea of it seemed quite ridiculous to me as there's stuff like system of a down on it. even i think that system of a down are a bunch of lunatics. my mom would surely jump out of her skin then...so i thought. and i told her about that. nevertheless, she insisted borrowing the CD and, being the luffly daughter that i am, i gave it to her. of course, thinking she'd get the shock of her life.
and guess what? this afternoon, she came back from work telling me how great that album was and how she actually "enjoyed" the whole tracklist, even and kinda especially system of a down!!! o.O
i mean, hellloooo??? this band's music represents just about everything my mom thinks is annoying and irritating. it's noisy, the singer's voice is kinda...well...screamy and they're just LOUD! she hates that. she even finds "my sweet prince" annoying. she even thinks travis are kinda disturbing her quiet little life. and now, she wants to tell me she likes that band. darlings, i am smelling a conspiracy.
seriously, i mean, that band is following me around and all sorts of people who you'd never expect to like them, suddenly listen to their stuff. remember that girl i told you about? danny? well, system of a down are her new favourite band. and i mean, ok, we've had this "friendship-break" for quite some time but she was this hardcore hip-hop fan before and she still dresses and acts like that. yet, she insists that that's her fave band.
then look at aaaallll those music channels on telly. they're constantly playing soad. suddenly, they all think they're the biggest thing in rock history. and whenever i turn the tv on they're there.
and now my mom. which actually made the whole conspiracy theory kinda believable as nothing and noone except for the fbi could make my mom say she likes that kinda music. *nods*

ahem...ok, i'll stop being silly now.
so...what did i do today? nothing too exciting but at least i did something constructive: i worked on the layout for maja's and my site. it looks quite good if i may say so myself. i've yet to hear what maja thinks, tho. i dunno if we're gonna use it. the more i think about it, the more the whole things seems more suitable for a diary. but we'll see... it's functional and quite pretty at the same time, so it might actually be used in some way or another.
ok, i should stop talking about that, too. because i can't show you the stuff yet and it's pointless to keep on babbling about something people can't see anyway. (see, told you the christian belief was pointless :p )

i have to entertain mariam now anyway. buy buy

ps: to mister anon who was so nice to sign my gbook and had so much lovely stuff to say *without* leaving his e-mail/url: i DID e-mail andrew several times using more than one e-mail addy. because nothing ever happened i thought there might be problems with his addy again (as there've been before). and because there's no other way of reaching him, i thought i'd use his notes. ok? so, if you're not andrew, i suggest you shut the fuck up and leave me alone. if you are (or if you feel the need to complain a bit more) you could do so by either e-mailing me or at least leaving an address so i can stalk you around and annoy the shit out of you, too. otherwise your oh-so-glorious game of playing andrew's hero would seem more than a little childish. oh, and feel free to write hundreds of notes which have nothing to do with the entry/diary if you have to. i won't take the piss like other people... thank you!
